		<description>Interesting question, and the answer really depends on what clinical value most generics bring. It&#039;s true that many generic compounds have essentially the same efficacy their branded counterparts do (however not always the same safety and AE profile). However, given the disconnected (and some say broken) system of healthcare access, the average price of generics drives the prevailing demand - to test the hypothesis of whether generics are underpricing themselves would be incredibly difficult, but not impossible.

A bit of a non sequitur, see the attached link regarding Bayer&#039;s recent decision to review and consolidate its $1B global ad account. Now here is a company that needs to embrace the digital universe in order to better serve physicians, patients, pharmacists and formulary decision makers. By doing so, that $1B could be reduced down to a tiny fraction of its typical ad spending.
